Anyone looking for a slice of Latif’s famous apple pie recently has surely been disappointed as the restaurant closed its doors for repairs. Latif’s has been making repairs to the drain lines for the past couple of weeks. However, fear not, as Latif’s hopes to reopen on Saturday.
Anyone looking up at the sky yesterday evening was sure to caught a beautiful sunset over Turlock. Lizette Villanueva was able capture a shot of the sky, which featured vibrant purples and reds mixed across the sky.
Turlock Pregnancy Center, located at 134 Regis St., Suite B, offers free pregnancy test, among their variety of services. The Pregnancy Center also offers peer counseling, abstinence education, STI and STD information, and parenting classes, which are are all free of charge and confidential.
While there may not be a bowling alley for kids to spend their time, there are still many youth sports and recreation programs around Turlock. Sign-ups for the Spring Wood Bat League and Arm and Body Conditioning at the Backyard Sports Academy, as well as sign-ups Turlock Youth Cheerleading, are currently ongoing.

The lights were on at the Warrior’s Baseball Field Thursday night as baseball season is officially underway for California State University, Stanislaus. The Warriors (2-2) were swept by Fresno Pacific University (3-0) in a doubleheader Thursday, 3-1 and 7-1, respectively.
Alleys, such as the one pictured, are much more common in the older areas around Turlock, however can be troublesome. Many alleys become dumping areas and gather trash, couches, shopping carts, or other items.
Since Little Caesars Pizza moved to its new location with a drive-thru, the old location at 2685 Geer Rd. remains empty. The sign above the building has been torn down, however passersby can still make out the letters is the paint.
