The California Highway Patrol is no longer reporting the Highway 99 collision Tuesday morning as fatal. At 9:50 a.m. Tuesday morning, CHP classified the northbound collision as fatal, but updated the status to a major injury collision at 11:40 a.m.
Southbound Highway 99 traffic is currently snarled due to a multiple vehicle collision near the Taylor Road exit. The collision, which was reported to California Highway Patrol shortly after 4 p.m., involved a white Mitsubishi, green Honda, and one other unknown vehicle, according to CHP.
The California Highway Patrol is reporting that a fatal collision on Highway 99 is backing up northbound traffic Tuesday morning. The collision was reported at 9:32 a.m. Tuesday after a big rig went over the embankment, while another vehicle overturned.
