Mark your calendars for September 20th, from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m., for the annual Garden Party at the Greenery. The Carnegie Arts Center Foundation and Turlock City Arts Commission present a unique event that will benefit the Foundation’s Endowment Fund. Sponsored this year by Winton-Ireland, Strom & Green Insurance, Turlock’s premier fundraiser for the Arts has the support of more than 16 local businesses and individuals as additional sponsors. More than 40 businesses and 15 artists have donated goods, services and unique artwork for the silent auction and raffle.

The Garden Party takes place in the gardens of The Greenery, located at 742 E. Olive Avenue. Guests will enjoy live music by members of the CSUS Jazz Studies program, delicious hors d’oeuvres from Mustard Seed Catering, all while viewing the beautiful artwork on display created by members of the Arts Commission’s Rings of the Arts. In addition to the works of art for sale in the exhibition, several of the areas finest artists and businesses have donated items to be included in a silent auction.

All proceeds from the event will go toward the newly established Endowment Fund for the Carnegie Arts Center and its future programs. With construction scheduled to begin in 2009, the Carnegie will soon be home to exhibitions, classes, concerts, poetry readings, and numerous community events. The Endowment will provide a permanent level of support for the goals of the Foundation and the Arts Commission –a vibrant Carnegie Arts Center for the benefit of the greater Turlock community.

Mary Scheinuck pastelThe Garden Party at the Greenery will be an enjoyable evening of food, wine, flowers, music, and art.
