TurlockCityNews.com would like to welcome and introduce guest political writer Jeff Hillberg. Jeff’s primary focus will be on the Turlock City Council race. TurlockCityNews.com would like to thank Jeff Hillberg for providing his insight to the process and devoting his volunteered time to help educate us that do not know all the aspects of our local politics. Please read his brief bio and what he will be writing about.

Jeff Hillberg ran for a seat on the Turlock City Council in 2006. He currently sits on the Planning Commission. Jeff graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara in 2006 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in History. He is currently the head of financial operations for Central Coast Fryer Farms, a small poultry company.

Hillberg’s first article will appear September 20, 2008. Questionnaires were sent out to all candidates and their answers will be posted on September 22, 2008. After this initial introduction to Jeff Hillberg, his first article and the candidates’ submitted Q&A, there will be scheduled articles written by Jeff Hillberg on TurlockCityNews.com every Monday. Special articles may be written as needed to cover the Turlock City Council race.

Article’s may include subjects such as who is donating money, how much it costs to run a campaign, relevant election law, the impact of absentee voters and why candidates are doing what they are doing. Hillberg will also touch on Measure S the county-wide transportation sales tax, and possibly examine a couple of statewide ballot measures and the overall dysfunction of our state government.
