Deceased Infant Found in Shopping Center Parking Lot

Turlock Police Investigators continue to look for the mother of a newborn infant that was found in a dumpster on Saturday, November 8, 2008, in the 1600 block of Lander Avenue in Turlock. The focus of the law enforcement efforts remains to ensure the safety and well being of the mother. The Turlock Police Department is asking that the mother contact local authorities or be seen by medical professionals the ensure that there are no health risks associated with the birth of the child.
The infant found in the dumpster has been identified as a female. Investigators also recovered a pair of size large purple women’s sweatpants, a light blue bath towel, and a kitchen towel with a green print pattern. An autopsy was completed today. The results of the autopsy may be released at a later date by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office. Turlock Police will not comment on any of the autopsy details.
