Black Friday and Cyber Monday in Turlock

Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is one of the biggest shopping days. Cyber Monday, the first day back from work after Thanksgiving, will be bigger according to reports. Last year $608 million of sales (up 26% from last year) were conducted over the internet on Cyber Monday. Are local Turlock businesses on the internet where Turlock shoppers may be? Where and when are you shopping?

Black Friday will be one of the biggest shopping days out of the year, Cyber Monday online dollar transactions will most likely increase by about 25% as it has done for the last 3 years. Last year Cyber Monday sales increased to $608 million (26% increase up from $484 million)!

With a questionable economy, online sales are showing no signs of declining. Total e-commerce sales for 2006 were estimated at $108.7 billion, an increase of 23.5 percent (±3.3%) from 2005.

Cyber Monday’s sales are attributed to 88% of online shoppers making purchases from their work places on the first day back from the four day holiday weekend! 73% of American adults (about 147 million) are internet users.

While most city leaders like saying they would like to work on economical growth, we would really like to do that. Turlock businesses, organizations and people need to get online whether they are going to sell online or just to get exposure where everyone is at.
