The rock icon Rick Springfield will be performing Live at the 2009 Stanislaus County Fair, singing all of his greatest hits and brining his extreme high energy show to town!

Rick Springfield will be performing Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at the Stanislaus County Fair. The band will appear on the Budweiser Variety Free Stage at 8:30 p.m. This concert is hosted by SUNNY 102.3, and is free with the price of Fair admission. The concert will be hosted by Sunny 102 (KJSN).

“Rick Springfield has shared his amazing performances for millions over the last three decades,” said Pennie Rorex, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “Now he will bring his amazing stage presence to the Fair’s free concert stage.”

The Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter, Rick Springfield, has brought great musical works to audiences with songs like “I’ve Done Everything For You,” “Affair of the Heart,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” “Love Somebody” and the unforgettable “Jessie’s Girl.”  Springfield has sold over 19 million records and has a whopping 17 top-40 hits! His latest album, Venus in Overdrive (UMe / New Door Records 2008) was released to high acclaim and reviewed as his best album since Working Class Dog! Rick continues to play over 100 shows a year, sharing his love of performing, unstoppable energy and his unique brand of crowd interaction with thousands of fans each night. Springfield has not only shown the world his musical talents, but his acting talent as well, with his casting on the popular soap opera “General Hospital.”

The theme of this year’s fair, “Renewable Fun,” encourages both adults and children to appreciate the blending of tradition with innovation in order to preserve our environment while enjoying its abundance.
