July 1922 -  February 4, 2009

Ruby May, 86, passed away on Wednesday at Emanuel Medical Center. She was born in The Dalles, OR to Virgil and Sarah Latta in 1922. Ruby was raised in Bakersfield, CA. In 1946, Ruby married Vernon D. May when both of them were serving in the Navy during WWII. Ruby and Vernon had lived in Southern California and Lodi from 1967 to 1991, and then they settled in Turlock. Ruby was a member of various Baptist churches in the towns that she had lived in. She was a Sunday School teacher. Ruby enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She and Vernon had traveled around the United States. God and family were Ruby’s life, and she was beloved by all.

Ruby is survived by her husband Vernon D. May; children Sharon Sayegh, Sarah McClain, Carol Crecelius, Connie Gabel, and Vernon N. May; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Mortuary. A Memorial Service will be held at Berkeley Avenue Baptist on February 9th at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will be at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.
