Don’t miss out on Turlock Historical Society’s presentation of an exciting lecture and slide show by Brian Tripp, of Patterson, who bicycled 10,000 miles around the world in 9 months.
Brian Tripp set out to ride around the world on a 9 month bicycle tour. Tripp left Patterson, California on February 2, 2008 and began pedaling to Florida. He then shipped the bike to England and headed east through Europe, Poland, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and China hoping to make Hong Kong sometime in November.
The central Californian’s adventure ended with success as he made it to Hong Kong on September 28, 2008.
Before Tripp had started peddling he did not know what was before him.
The long global bicycle trek took Tripp across many countries while being people from all over the world took him in with hospitality.
After Tripp made it to Hong Kong he said “…know this: the good people around this world out number the bad a thousand to one. Don’t believe the papers, we’re all the same and we’re all in this together. Be cool, Brian”
Listen to his trials and ordeals of crossing borders in foreign lands and also of the friendly help and acceptance he enjoyed.
Plan for a wonderful evening on Tuesday March 10, 2009 at 7:00 pm in Covenant Village of Turlock’s Berg Hall located at 2125 North Olive Avenue in Turlock.
