Dewey Wilson Green
February 1915 – February 26, 2009
Dewey Wilson Green, 94 of Turlock, died on Tuesday at Emanuel Medical Center. He was born in North Loop, NE to Truman and Edna Green in 1915. The family moved to California, settling in Woodlake, CA at the age of 16. During a tent revival, Dewey met and married Lorene Payne. They had four children Duane, Bob, Ted and Sharon. While raising the family, he worked in Mines of Grass Valley, owned and operated Ennis Dairy of Madera, and Boneta Gas and Grocery Market. He moved the family to Turlock in 1953. In Turlock, he owned and operated two Green Spot grocery stores. Dewey also was an Insurance Broker, bought and sold real estate and was a consistent minister of God’s word. His only passion in life was the desire to live for Jesus and to teach others of God’s plan of eternal salvation. He loved his family beyond measure. Dewey enjoyed gospel music, singing, traveling, board games, and sharing meals with others.
Dewey is survived by his wife Carolyn Green; children Duane Green of Turlock, Bob Green of Stockton, Ted Green of Denair, and Sharon Bronner of Ohio City, CO; brother Paul Greene of Clovis, CA; 16 grand children and 29 great grand children. He is preceded in death by his first wife Lorene Green, and seven siblings.
A Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Saturday, February 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, at Turlock Memorial Park.
