Geneva “Nana” May Graybeal
August 1926 - February 28, 2009
Geneva “Nana”, 82 of Ceres, passed away on Saturday at Doctor’s Medical Center. She was born in Springfield, MO to Henry and Alma Patton in 1926. In 1944, Geneva moved to Turlock. In 1966, she married Wayne Graybeal and moved to Ceres, where she had lived ever since. Geneva worked for CVC and Kraft Foods in quality control. She attended Calvary Chapel in Modesto and was a member of 50 Plus Club of Ceres. Geneva was the current vice president of the club, but has also served as the president and “sunshine lady”! She enjoyed crocheting, girl’s lunches out, country music, jokes, playing with her great-grandchildren, traveling with the 50 Plus Club, camping & cooking (she was best known for her salsa and fried chicken legs!) Most of all she enjoyed time well spent with her family and friends. She will always been known for her generosity, and ability to love deeply and sacrificially.
Geneva is survived by her husband Wayne Graybeal of Ceres; children Jennie Bergman of Turlock and Dave Graybeal of Ceres; sister Beatrice Baldwin of Springfield, MO; grandchildren Randy Nordell, Rick Nordell and Robyn Berdino; niece Linda Wilson; and 10 great grandchildren, whom she was absolutely crazy about! She was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Roth.
Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Mortuary. A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Chapel in Modesto on Thursday, March 5 at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will be held at Turlock Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to 50 Plus Club of Ceres, P.O. Box 1832, Ceres, CA 95307.
