Turlock Police Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested Michael Quintana, 34 of Turlock, for suspicion of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for the purpose of sales, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The Narcotics Enforcement Team is a newly formed one that came together late last year.

A search warrant was served on Friday morning for the residence located in the 4000 block of St. Patrick Place by the newly formed narcotics team.

The search resulted in 391 marijuana plants, in various growth stages, being seized from the north Turlock home. The house had rooms converted into a sophisticated hydroponics system comprised of lights and hoses. Materials for packing and selling the marijuana were also found.

If all the plants were in their mature growth state, the street value would have totaled over $1 million.

While searching the residency during the drug bust, Turlock Police also found a loaded handgun in a trash can.

Tips of suspicious activity put the residency on the narcotics team’s radar.

This was the Narcotics Enforcement Team’s first major raid since forming late last year. The team includes a Turlock Police Sergeant and two Turlock Police Officers.
