The City of Turlock will hold a public meeting on the Housing Element Update at the Turlock Council Chambers located at 156 S. Broadway starting at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24. The Forum is an opportunity for individuals and organizations involved in housing issues in Turlock to give their input as the City updates its Housing Element.
The Housing Element is a state-mandated plan adopted by each city and county as part of their general plan to demonstrate how each agency will help achieve the State’s housing goal. In preparing this plan, the City of Turlock is required to involve the public representing all economic segments of the community and must specifically coordinate with agencies and officials responsible for the implementation of the various actions and means to achieve the
The public is invited to participate in a discussion regarding the City’s current housing needs and help staff identify needs, programs and policies that can help better address the needs of its citizens (see draft agenda). Citizens, representatives of non-profit and for-profit service providers, and other interested agencies are welcome to attend this meeting.
The consultant has completed a needs assessment and constraints analyses. The report will be made available online prior to the meeting and can be downloaded at: http://www.gpupdate.turlock.ca.us.
