Rob Santos at Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital DMV Weeds News StoryTelevision crews came to Turlock on Monday to report on neighbor complaints of DMV’s foreclosed look.

The state is implementing a lot of budget cut backs as we are in a recession, but people were talking about the fact there should not be different blight standards.

The news crew parked right next door at Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital where the landscape is well kept, despite dealing with the same economic times the state is dealing with.

DMV officials reported that they have been without a landscaping contract for three months now. DMV contracted a new landscaper on Friday and plan to get the weeds taken care of soon.

Turlock citizen Mark Wendell was interviewed and expressed his dislike for the blight in the neighborhood and that it is even a state office.

So weeds and tall grass are a big deal here in Turlock. With the city’s budget deficit and expected future deficits, this may be an issue with our road dividers, city buildings, and parks. Let’s hope not though.
