The Heart of Rock and Roll is Coming to the 2009 Stanislaus Fair

Stanislaus Fair in Turock Huey Lewis and the NewsThis band is “Workin’ For A Livin’” as they bring their amazing music to the 2009 Stanislaus County Fair free stage.

Grammy award-winning Huey Lewis and The News will perform, Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at the Stanislaus County Fair on the Budweiser Variety Free Stage at 8:30 p.m. This concert is hosted by 104.1 The Hawk and is free with the price of Fair admission.

“The music of Huey Lewis and The News is irresistible,” said Pennie Rorex, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “It will be hip to be square at this year’s Stanislaus County Fair.”

2009 marks the 30th anniversary of when Huey Lewis and The News was formed from two rival Bay Area bands in 1979. Since the group’s beginning, they have sold over 20 million albums and have toured worldwide continuously. One of the highlights of their stage show is their a cappella rendition of early rock n’ roll classics. The group’s top ten hits include “Heart of Rock & Roll,” “If This Is It,” “Hip To Be Square” and “Workin’ For a Livin.” The group also wrote and performed “The Power of Love,” a Billboard number one single and “Back in Time” for the hit film Back To The Future.

  • Rick Springfield – Tue, Aug. 4, 2009

  • Gretchen Wilson – Wed, Aug. 5, 2009

  • Josh Turner – Fri, Aug. 7, 2009

  • Huey Lewis and The News – Sat, Aug. 8, 2009

The 2009 Stanislaus County Fair opens Friday, July 31 for a 10-day run. Discounted Fair admission and unlimited ride wristband eTickets are now on sale. FoodMaxx Arena event tickets go on sale Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 10 a.m. Visit the Fair’s website for detailed ticket sale information at www.stancofair.com.
