Red Steer in Turlock FireWhen the fire that gutted The Red Steer happened, it was reported that owners Scott Soiseth and his son-in-law Tracy Smith ran the restaurant.

When two suspects were arrested for suspicion of starting the Red Steer fire, neither the Turlock Police or Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office commented on whether or not the suspect Tracy Smith was the same Tracy Smith who was related to Scott Soiseth and co-owner.

Updated reports now confirm that Co-Owner Tracy Smith, 27 of Turlock, has been reported to be one of the two men arrested by Turlock Detectives as a suspect in the starting of the Red Steer Restaurant fire that occurred on May 28, 2009.

Anyone with information regarding The Red Steer fire should contact Detective Jason Tosta at (209) 668-5550 ext. 6654 or call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636. Calls to Crime Stoppers may be made anonymously and may be eligible for a reward.
