The construction area at the University Circle entrance to CSUS is a new sign project. The new sign will be similar to the signs recently constructed at the corner of Monte Vista Avenue + Geer Rd and Monte Vista Avenue + Crowell Road.
Don Hansen, CSU Stanislaus Public Affairs, said “It’s all part of a series of projects designed to enhance the perimeter of the campus that started earlier this year.”
The project is being funded through a combination of donor funding gifts to cover the cost of the materials and some of the labor by CSU Stanislaus Facilities staff. These projects have been in the planning stages for many years.
Hansen also emailed an update on a couple other projects and their funding sources.
Earlier in the year, on University Circle at the main entrance, across from Del’s Lane, a parking circulation improvement project was completed. The project was funded through the University’s Parking Program budget and improves movement and safety of vehicles from parking lots along Monte Vista Avenue/University Way. Disabled parking spaces were also brought into ADA compliance.
A completion of the campus Bike Path is also nearing completion. The project allows bicycles safer access to the campus from any direction without having to ride on a city street. That project is being funded through non-state Alternate Modes of Transportation funds, which come from parking fines.
