As of September 11th, Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels has still not said whether former Turlock High graduate and Fresno State QB Tom Brandstater will start for the Broncos in the NFL opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton was the expected starting quarterback for Denver this season. Orton is recovering from a dislocated right finger that required stitches. Denver backup quarterback Chris Simms is suffering from a sprained ankle.
Tom Brandstater’s chances of starting as quarterback against the Cincinnati Bengals on opening day look good but still not certain.
According to the September 11th Denver Broncos injury report, both Orton and Simms were listed as having “limited participation” in practices through Friday while being given the status of “questionable” at the end of the week.
Brandstater led the Broncos to their only preseason victory when they beat the Arizona Cardinals 19-0 in the September 4th preseason finale.
On www.denverbroncos.com, Brandstater has consistently been referenced as being able to pick up “the game” and the Broncos’ offensive while feeling comfortable leading the huddle.
Updates on our Turlocker playing in the NFL will continue as soon as there is something to report.
