Three Turlock Irrigation District Board of Director seats are up for election on November 3, 2009.
Three candidates (Division 3 Candidate Joe Alamo, Division 5 Candidate Pamela Sweeten, and Division 5 Candidate Ron Macedo) took the opportunity to respond to the emailed questionnaires and communicate their views and positions to the voters who they will represent.
Joe Alamo’s opponent did not respond, nor did he show up to the TID Candidates’ Forum at the American Legion.
Current TID Board of Directors President Charles Fernandes is running for re-election and is unopposed for the Division 2 Director seat. Fernandes not only declined to fill out the questionnaire but would not answer questions, even as a current Director, regarding the three hot button issues (TID Director Appointment, Changing Board Meeting Time, and Merit Pay).
As one of TurlockCityNews.com’s top priorities, improving communication here in Turlock, we really appreciate the extra effort to fill out these extensive questionnaires.
In appreciation of the candidates’ effort to communicate, TurlockCityNews.com will be putting stipulations on the commenting system we currently have in place. All comments left on the individual profiles will be directed to this main page. We encourage constructive comments because we will be using discretion on approval based on if we feel the comments serve a purpose to inform, support, or promote Turlock (more TurlockCityNews.com priorities). Concerns, questions, debatable points, alternative views… Put them down. Comments attacking the candidates personally will not be approved, so make the comments legitimate. As always feel free to leave comments of support. Signing your name is optional but encouraged.
Please read and take into consideration the information when you go to vote for your respective TID Division Director on Tuesday, November 3, 2009.
