The Suspect in this case has been identified as ARTHUR MAUNAKEA, 52 YR, from Turlock. He was booked at the Stanislaus County Jail on November 1, 2009 at approximately 2:00 am on the charge of 187 P.C.The victim has also been identified as Lamondrea Brown, 23 yr, from Turlock.
At approximately 2:40pm on Saturday,October 31st, Turlock Police Officers responded to a call of an aggravated assault in the area of 1200 N Olive. Officers arrived and found a 22 year old male with a stab wound. The Victim was transported to an area hospital and succumbed to his injuries. The victim is a Turlock resident and his name is being withheld pending notification of family members.
A suspect has been located and identified as a 52 year old male who is also from Turlock. His name is not being released at this time as Detectives are actively pursuing additional information and possible witnesses. The release of the suspect name would jeopardize the investigation.
The initial information that Turlock Police Detectives have been able to gather indicates that both the suspect and victim knew each other. They were in an argument earlier today and that argument resulted in the physical confrontation in the 1200 block of N Olive. This incident is not gang related.
The homicide caused N. Olive to be closed from Hawkeye Avenue to Wayside. Once the crime scene has been cleared the road will be open to through traffic again.
