The Turlock Police Department responded to a reported bomb threat at a local daycare/preschool. An unknown caller telephoned the daycare/preschool and advised of a bomb on the premise. Turlock Police responded and located a suspicious package in the parking lot.

All the daycare children were evacuated and their parents were notified. The children were moved to Dutcher School.

The Turlock Police Department closed Colorado Avenue in front of the school until the Stanislaus County Sheriff Bomb Disposal Unit cleared the scene.

The bomb threat was just a scare as the suspicious package in the parking lot was moved and destroyed in a nearby field. The package was  not explosive.

The Turlock Police are investigating the bomb threat call.

The Turlock Police Department is an active participant in the Crime Stoppers Program.  Callers can leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636 and may be eligible for a cash reward.
