Governor May Choose Walnut Students’ H1N1 PSA Video Submission in Statewide Contest

Walnut video submission for H1N1 Flu Film FestivalThe California Department of Public Health held a video contest to raise awareness regarding H1N1 and seasonal flu.
 
Walnut Elementary students made a “Flu Film Festival” PSA video submission that is comprised of original music, lyrics, and dancing while trying to educate viewers to cover their coughs, sneezes, wash their hands, and sanitize.
 
The Walnut students’ video “H1N1 PSA” by strich 49 was announced as a top 10 finalist in late October.
 
Public voting was held until November 12, 2009 at the CDPH website, http://cdphfilmfest.org.

Top 4

Since public voting ended, it has been reported that the Walnut students “H1N1 PSA” video made it into the top 4. The top 4 videos may be seen at http://cdphfilmfest.org.

The Walnut Elementary students are now awaiting the announcement of the winning video. The California Department of Public Health will be making the announcement very soon.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger may be choosing the winning video.

 
The winner of the statewide contest will be judged with by the criteria of Message theme (50%), Creativity (30%), and Entertainment value (20%).
 
The 1st place winner will receive a $500 gift card and an award certificate. The winning video may also be featured on broadcast TV and/or radio and on government and partner websites and will remain available on YouTube.
 
The 2nd place winner will receive an award certificate and their video may also be featured on broadcast TV and/or radio and on government and partner websites and will remain available on YouTube.
