Introduction:

My husband and I have embarked on a culinary odyssey in of all places, Turlock. We live here and feel that through experiencing local cuisine (or just plain food in some cases) and writing about it we might be able to help people find good food and may discover some hidden gems along the way.

Primarily, Peter was a chef for 20 years with classical culinary training working in fine dining eating establishment from New England to Florida to Lake Tahoe. The guy knows food and he’s not a snob. He appreciates the rustic and simple as much as the complicated and sophisticated.

Eating great food has been a priority in life for me since my 20’s. My ideal vacation is centered around the types of food I’ll be eating. I spend more time researching restaurants than tourist attractions when planning a vacation. I also like to write.

Thus the pairing of two people prepared the explore Turlock and the surrounding regions. We won’t be trying any chain restaurants or fast food nations but will be looking more for that charming hole in the wall with kick ass food. It is our hope to make some discoveries and hopefully get recommendations from fellow epicures in Turlock. – Christine and Peter Bacon
