Veda Rose, 79, of Turlock passed away on Friday, February 26. She was born in Paradise, Texas to John and Pearl McCleskey in 1930. The family settled in Turlock in 1943. Veda attended Turlock High School and graduated in 1947. She married Bill Rose, Jr. in 1951. They raised three children and started Bill Rose Construction, in which Veda played a vital role as co-owner. In 1984, Veda started working for House of Fabrics and retired in 1993.

She is preceded in death by husband Bill of 47 years; her parents; three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her children Doug of Turlock, Billy (Susan) of Turlock and Steffani Rose-Melendez (Manuel) of Delhi; grandchildren Will of San Francisco, Isaac of Chowchilla and Pricilla of Fresno; six great grandchildren.


Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary from 3:00 till 7:00 on Wednesday, March 3. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 4 at Allen Mortuary. Burial will be follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
