7 1/2 years ago Rachel Johnson’s son Henry was born. He was a BIG boy weighing 10 lbs 14 oz. To their surprise he was born with Apert Syndrome.

This syndrome affects the development of the face and skull, his fingers and toes were also fused together.

Henry has had many surgeries since birth starting at 9 1/2 months old. They vary from ear tubes to complete skull reconstruction. Their surgeon is in Dallas Texas, so they travel from California to Texas for all of Henry’s critical care.

“We are not alone in this journey though. We have many friends and family that love and support us, as well as CCA (Children’s Craniofacial Association” says Rachel. “TJ and I are dedicated to giving back to an organization that is very near and dear to our hearts. So plan of joining us and if you are out of the area, we would still love a donation.”

March 7th 2010 Rachel Johnson is planning a fun run/walk to raise funds and awareness for Children’s Craniofacial Association. CCA is an amazing organization that supports both emotionally and financially challenged children diagnosed with facial disfigurements.

Come on out and enjoy entertainment, refreshments, awards and goody bags. All for an amazing cause. Proceeds will benefit Children’s Craniofacial Association (www.ccakids.com). Their pledge is to empower and give hope to facially disfigured individuals and their families.
