TJ and Rachel Johnson organized the 3rd Annual Henry’s March in support of the Children’s Craniofacial Association. CCA is an amazing organization that supports, emotionally and financially, children diagnosed with facial disfigurements.The Johnson’s son Henry was born with Apert Syndrome. This syndrome affects the development of the face and skull along with finger and toe fusing issues.
CCA is an organization and good cause that TJ and Rachel Johnson wanted to support. Their 1st Annual Henry’s March raised over $24,000 with short notice and last year during the beginning of the recession they raised over $21,000.
The 2010 Henry’s March was held on Sunday, March 7th and raised over $21,000 while over a thousand participants and supporters came out to the event.
The young children and mascots’ races are always the most fun to watch and were again this year.
This year Angelini’s Italian Restaurant sponsored the event and held a Pre-Race Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser that contributed $750. Angelini’s also donated pizza for a year in “The Great Waiter Chase” after Mike Boyer won the prize by catching a sponsored runner with a head-start in the 1K run.
Angelini’s owner Ed Loetz said “We’re just glad we could help out and be part of this community effort.”“Henry’s March was a fantastic and glorious success,” said Rachel Johnson. “Wow, what a fun event!”
Rachel continually thanks the sponsors, vendors, racers, volunteers, and other supporters who make the event possible annually.
