View the agendas for the Special Budget Workshop and Turlock City Council Meeting to be held on March 23, 2010 at 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
Last year the City of Turlock made it through an approximate $5 million budget deficit while cutting operation budgets by at least 10 percent across the board, a voluntary employee salary reduction of 5 percent across the board, and cutting 40 positions as over 20 employees lost their jobs.
This year the City is facing the same kind of tough situations with not much else to cut besides personnel. Around 90 percent of the General Fund Budget is personnel while a majority of funding goes toward Police and Fire.
The Special Budget Workshop will provide more information on the economic situation of the City and organization. The Special Budget Workshop will be held at 6pm, before the City Council Meeting at 7pm.
