What do you get when you cross fiery fiddling, fancy footwork, with a family of nine? Answer: Fantastic fun in the form of the Hunt Family Fiddlers. This high-powered, energetic, and refreshing group is presented by the Turlock Concert Association at its season concluding concert on Saturday, May 1, at 7:30pm. They perform original, Celtic, bluegrass, inspirational, and popular tunes, offering a unique blend of music, showmanship, and harmony.
Parents, songwriters, and performers Clint and Sandy, along with their seven children Jessica, Jennifer, Joshua, Jonathan, Jordan, Justin and Jamison, have released five albums and have won numerous awards in fiddle, Irish dance, and singing contests around the world. They are beloved by their audiences. Evidence of that can be found in the six standing ovations received at the Newport Waterfront Irish Festival, hosted in Clint’s hometown of Newport News, Virginia. Similar adulation follows them no matter where they perform.
Individually, the Hunt children are amazing musicians. Collectively, they are a dynamic group of talented performers, dedicated to preserving their art form. Every child is an accomplished fiddler, step dancer, and singer and at each show takes a turn in the spotlight. Daughters Jessica and Jennifer have been touring the country performing in addition to taking online college courses. Son Joshua recently competed at the World Championships for Irish dance in Glasgow, Scotland. Jonathan is a 2005 Regional Champion and four time World Ranked Irish dancer, dancing in Belfast and Ennis, Ireland. He released some of his own original compositions in 2008. Jordan is a 2005 Regional Champion and was ranked 9th in the nation in Nashville, TN for Irish step dancing. Justin and Jamison, the youngest of the family, are notorious for stealing the show!
The Hunt Family Fiddlers have performed in Scotland, opened three consecutive years for the Virginia Symphony at the “Symphony Under the Stars” concert, and performed for Queen Elizabeth during her visit to the United States in 2007. They will amaze you with their winning performance and capture your heart with their charm.
