Patriotic Parade 2009Turlock Downtown Property Owners Association and American Legion Rex Ish Post 88 are proud to present the Turlock 4th of July Celebration in Downtown Turlock on July 3, 2010.

There will be no public fireworks show this year in Turlock, neither at CSU Stanislaus or the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds.

The nearly 4,000 people who attended Turlock Downtown’s Taste of Turlock 2010 on May 1st (up from the approximate 600 last year) prove that Turlockers want a free community event where family and friends can meet for food and fun.

Turlock Downtown and the American Legion Rex Ish Post 88 are looking for as many participants as possible to help make this year’s 4th Annual Independence Celebration a fun community event where everyone is there!

Thousands of people came out to celebrate our country's Independence Day on Turlock Downtown's Main Street in 2009.The event will include an open Independence Celebration Car Show, great music and an old fashion street faire atmosphere that is sure to fill the streets with thousands of people as it has the last three years.

On Saturday, July 3, 2010, an opening ceremony will take place at 9:30am, the Patriotic Parade will begin at 10am, and the Independence Celebration Car Show will be ongoing from 10am to 5pm.

The Patriotic Parade will run through Historic Downtown on Saturday morning and is expected to draw thousands to the Main Street corridor.

Nominations for a Patriotic Parade Grand Marshal are being accepted as the Turlock Downtown Property Owners Association is asking for your help to find someone deserving of recognition for their contributions, service, and dedication to our community.

Send nominations to twalley@turlockdowntown.com by June 11th. Please include your name and contract information; name and contact information for nominee; and the reason you think that person should be parade marshal.

The Independence Celebration Car Show will line Main Street as it did last year with over 100 registered cars.

Lines of people enjoyed products from vendors at the Independence Celebration in 2009.A street faire will also be ongoing throughout the day that will include food, alcohol, and street vendors along with activities for all ages and a children’s area.

This event is made possible only by sponsorships. There are many different levels of sponsorship available but are limited, please download the sponsorship packet for details.

If you wish to participate in this fourth annual event in any way, please complete and return an application.  Available space is assigned on first come first serve so get your application in early.

Volunteers are greatly needed and would very much be appreciated.
