Seven Turlock City Council candidates filed their nomination papers at Turlock City Hall by the extended deadline of 5pm on Wednesday, August 11, 2010.

The regular nomination deadline of August 6, 2010 was extended 5 days when incumbent Councilmen Ted Howze and Kurt Spycher opted to not run for reelection due to prioritization of their families.

As of the regular nomination deadline just 5 days ago, only two City Council candidates had filed their nomination papers. Since then, five more candidates have filed papers with Turlock City Clerk Rhonda Greenlee.

Two potential candidates of seven, William W. DeHart Jr. (Director of Marketing) and David Fransen Jr. (Business Owner), were filing their papers all the way up until the deadline with the Turlock City Clerk but have yet to be verified by the Stanislaus County Clerk’s office.

As of August 11, 2010 at 6:10pm, the Stanislaus County Clerk website has verified candidates to be on the November 2, 2010 ballots as Shawn L. Barlow (Criminal Prosecutor), Timm LaVelle (Business Owner), Patrick Noda (Business Man), Jeremy Rocha (Agribusinessman), and Forrest J. White (Retired C.E.O.).

Incumbent Mayor John Lazar is verified as running unopposed for reelection for Turlock Mayor.
