Family, close friends, and co-workers of Shawn Barlow, Stanislaus County Deputy District Attorney and Turlock City Council Candidate, have confirmed that he passed away on Sunday morning at his home.
Barlow was 40 years and is now the second Stanislaus County prosecutor to die after Nate Baker, 42, died on August 5th while in addressing heart issues. Barlow handled major drug crime cases.
The cause of Barlow’s death has not yet been confirmed and funeral arrangements are pending. Barlow’s survivors include his mother Glenda Pometta, stepfather David Pometta, and fiancé Lindsey Robbins.
Shawn Barlow had lived in Turlock since 1984, graduated from Turlock High School in 1988, and graduated from California State University, Stanislaus in 1997. Barlow then attended law school in Wyoming and returned to Turlock in 2002. In 2003 Barlow began his career as a prosecutor in the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office. Shawn Barlow was one of seven candidates running for Turlock City Council to be elected on November 2, 2010.
