Turlock Downtown is holding the Great Pumpkin Decorating Contest, so go pick up the perfect pumpkin and get it dressed up for the season. The City of Turlock Recreation Division Teen Advisory Council, Turlock Downtown Property Owners Association and the Turlock Journal are holding a contest for the best decorated pumpkins. This is intended to be a casual and fun way to involve children and their families in decorating downtown Turlock for the Fall Festivities.
Wednesday, October 27th is the last day to turn pumpkins to the Turlock Journal at 138 S. Center Street from 8am to 7pm. Contest entry forms in pdf format may be downloaded here.
Pumpkins will be on display throughout Downtown Turlock from October 28th to the day Downtown will host their Trick-or-Treat event on October 30th.
On October 30th, Trick-or-Treat from business to business in Downtown Turlock and enjoy free fun activities with the kids such as a Halloween Maze sponsored by the 12:10 Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club of Turlock and the Alpha Xi Delta sponsored Carnival that includes a coloring booth, games and more on Main Street. All this will be going on from 11am to 4pm.
Dogs and their owners can participate in the 1st annual dog howl-o-ween parade in Turlock. Dress up your dog, dogs, a group of dogs or have a float and join in on the festivities. Prizes for the top 10 dogs – An entry can be a single dog dresses up, a group of dogs dressed up, or best dog / human team entry. Prize packs will be given to the judges’ top 10 favorite entries. Bring your family downtown to see the excitement of Dogs dressed up in the craziest costumes from 10am to noon on October 30th.
