The month of February is spay and neuter month. Friends of Turlock Animal Shelter will be offering a spay assistance for pregnant cats.
In 2009, Friends of Turlock Animal Shelter set up a trial program were the non-profit organization put $25 toward the spaying of pregnant cats. The trial involved 21 pregnant cats. These cats were pregnant with 100 kittens. This means the average cat was pregnant with 5 kittens and she had the ability to have 3 sets of kittens in her breeding season.
The program’s goal was to stop the birth of unwanted kittens by focusing on the pregnant cats.
Friends of Turlock Animal Shelter is offering this program again in 2011 through Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital and Community Veterinary Clinic.
For the cost of $45, a person may get their pregnant cat fixed under the assistance program.
Other cats may be fixed under the regular Project X prices. People will also be offered the Project X discount prices for Leukemia/FIV testing, vaccinations, wormers and flea products.
So help Friends of Turlock Animal Shelter… by helping the animals.
