Turlock’s Paws for a Cause, a 5K dog walk, will be held on May 1st from 10am to 1pm at the Dog Park located in Sunnyview Park. The event is hosted by the Turlock Animal Shelter while a group of CSU Stanislaus students have volunteered to organize the event to benefit the Turlock Animal Shelter.
Organizers hope the entire Turlock community and surrounding neighbors come out to join this family friendly event for some fun while supporting a great cause. People are encouraged to bring a blanket and have a picnic. There will be dog agility demonstrations, vendor booths and informational booths, and adoptable animals at the event. There will also be a costume contest, raffle prizes, games, and more.
To participate in the 5K dog walk, a $10 donation is sought and one must fill out a registration form before walking in the event. Forms may be downloaded here: www.turlockarts.com/pawswaiver.doc
Adoptable shelter animals will be at the park to enjoy the day as well. If you fall in love with one of the shelter animals or have been looking for another addition to your family, you can partake in the Animal Adoption Faire.
If your 4-legged friends aren’t up for the 5K walk and/or the Animal Adoption Faire, you can always come to the park and ask the friendly workers and professionals for information on your animal’s well being in the areas of veterinarians including Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital, spaying/neutering, training, fun activities, and new friends.
The Turlock Dog Park is located in Sunnyview Park at 500 S. Berkeley Road.
