The Stanislaus County Fair celebrates 100 years of fun this year and kicks off in less than one week! There will be free nightly concerts with the price of Fair admission beginning at 8:30pm. The Stanislaus County Fair will run Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 24. This year’s line-up includes:
Friday July 15: Clint Black
The country star will be the fair’s opening act, bringing a taste of country music to kick-off the weekend. He has had more than 20 #1 hit singles and more than 20 million albums sold worldwide. You may have seen Black on TV or movies such as Celebrity Apprentice and Still Holding On: The Legend of Cadillac Jack.
Saturday July 16: Boyz II Men
Known as the best-selling R&B group of all time, Boyz II Men will be celebrating 21 years together this year. The four-time Grammy-winning act continues to entertain fans with hits such as “End of the Road,” “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday,” and songs from their newest album Love. With over 60 million records sold worldwide, the 90’s group is sure to bring back memories for everyone that grew up listening to them.
Sunday July 17: America
The 70’s rock group established a global household name for themselves with six albums that have all gone gold or platinum. Original members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell perform their classic hits including “Sister Golden Hair,” “Horse With No Name,” and will be releasing their new CD Back Pages July 26th.
Monday July 18: MercyMe
Named Billboard magazine’s “Christian Song Artist of the Decade,” the multi-platinum selling band will perform its motivating Christian hits. They will perform songs from their upcoming album as well as other popular songs including “I Can Only Imagine,” and “All of Creation.”
The group is an eight time winner of the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Awards, and were named America’s Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist at the 2010 American Music Awards.
Tuesday July 19: Clay Walker
The Texan country singer will be returning to the Fair, performing hits from his four platinum albums and two certified gold albums. Walker has topped charts with 11 #1 singles, and is known for his first #1 hit “What’s It To You,” as well as recent hits “Fall,” and “She Won’t Be Lonely Long.”
Wednesday July 20: Big Time Rush
Nickelodeon’s boy band is best known for their hit show Big Time Rush and upbeat pop songs. Big Time Rush has become the highest-rated show on the Nickelodeon network. The band’s four boys bring comedy and their good looks to the small screen, and will do the same at the Fair. With hits such as “’Til I Forget About You,” and “Boyfriend,” the band will be an exciting show for kids and adults alike.
Thursday July 21: Bob and Tom Comedy All-Stars
Bob Kevoian and Tom Griswold host a comedy radio talk show, The Bob and Tom Show, heard on over 150 radio stations across the country. The show has received five Marconi Awards, the highest award in radio from the National Association of Broadcasters. The show features news, sports, lifestyle content, and interviews with today’s top actors, authors, and newsmakers. The duo will stop by the Fair as a part of the live comedy concerts they perform.
Friday July 22: Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
The punk-rock group will liven up the Fair with their hit singles from the 1980’s including “Bad Reputation,” “I Love Rock ‘n Roll,” “Crimson and Clover,” and some new singles. You may have seen the Blackhearts’ leader Joan Jett in the 1970’s punk girl group the Runaways, 1980’s movie Light of Day, The Rocky Horror Show, or in the pages of Rolling Stones as one of the greatest guitar players of all time.
Saturday July 23: Joe Nichols and Heidi Newfield
The four time Grammy nominated Joe Nichols is an Arkansas native will bring some country to the Variety Stage. With 10 songs making the Billboard Hot Country Song chart, fans are sure to hear many hits including “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off,” “Gimme That Girl,” and “Brokenheartsville.”
Opening his act is country singer Heidi Newfield. Newfield was the lead vocalist in the 90’s country group Trick Pony, and now performing solo. You may recognize her song "Johnny and June," from the Billboard Hot 100 or her new single "Stay Up Late."
Sunday July 24: La Original Banda El Limon de Salvador Lizarraga
The Latin Grammy winning group will be the finale performance at the end of the Fair’s 10-day run. With a 17 member band, the group is sure to liven up the stage with a taste of their Latin music. Their hits include “Que Se Te Olvido,” “Soledad,” and “Buena Suerte.” You made have seen the group on Latin soap operas, or the popular talk show, “Conversando con Cristina.”
