The American Legion Rex Ish Post 88 helped get the Pitman High School boys’ basketball team some much need athletic training equipment to start this year’s season with a donation.
Coach Harvey Marable said that the team was short about $350 and in need of some athletic training equipment to help work out and prevent injuries.
Ray Garcia, who has a son on the team, went and made a presentation to the American Legion in Turlock requesting help.
The American Legion came through with support for the youth and on Friday delivered a check in the amount of $350.
Gunner Bruce and John Haggstrom from the American Legion Rex Ish Post 88 were on hand to present the monetary award for athletic training equipment.
Pitman High basketball player Branson Garcia was thankful and said, “I think this is really going to help the Pitman High School basketball team.”
The equipment will help keep the players healthy and coach Marable added, “and make them a little faster maybe.”
