Let me introduce myself and give you a quick summary of the life and times of Trina Walley that led to becoming the newest writer for TurlockCityNews.com.
I was born in Turlock, graduated from Hilmar High School, and moved away to attend UC Davis. I received my B.S. in Animal Science and Management in 2000 and have held several jobs over the years that have nothing to do with my degree. Nonetheless, with each job I have built up my skills in conference and events, community organization, and marketing. I started working at The Woodland Daily Democrat as an advertising account executive because I was interested in learning more about marketing. A year later, the Davis Conference & Visitors Bureau offered me a job as an Executive Assistant to work with the City and businesses to show the importance of tourism even in a smaller, non-destination community. I worked my way up to Conference Sales and Marketing Coordinator and attended tradeshows all over California and the United States recruiting events to Davis. I eventually moved home to Turlock to be close to family and worked for the family business.
Although I have moved on from the Downtown, I want to continue my community involvement and believe that writing for TurlockCityNews.com will give me that opportunity. I look forward to this new challenge and would love to hear from you if there is anything that you feel would be a great story.
