Before the Carnegie Arts Center holds its grand opening on Saturday, people may attend special events held at the Carnegie leading up to the opening day.
The Founding Members’ reception will be held Tuesday, September 6th, from 5:30pm -7:30pm at the Carnegie. Those who attend will enjoy wine, cheese, and a presentation by Executive Director Rebecca Phillips Abbott about the “behind the scenes” process of putting together the Ansel Adams CALIFORNIA inaugural exhibition.
Become a member, support Carnegie programs, and enjoy all that the Carnegie has to offer. Those who join at any level in 2011 will be Founding Members. They will be recognized in our Book of Founding Members and will enjoy this special status for as long as they remain members.
If you are not a Carnegie Founding Member, you may sign up to be one from the Carnegie website or at the event. Founding Membership levels range from $35 – $1,000.
On Friday night, from 7pm – 10pm, a Grand Opening Preview Gala will be held at the Carnegie Arts Center.
This is the public’s first chance to see the Ansel Adams CALIFORNIA exhibition. The Gala will be catered by Hilmar Cheese Company, with wine from Bronco Winery and beer from Dust Bowl Brewery. Live music will provided by members of the Modesto Symphony Orchestra.
Limited tickets are available at the price of $125 and are sold from the Carnegie website. The event calls for evening attire.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a private lunch at the Carmel home of Ansel Adams, where he lived and worked. Tickets to the drawing are $50 and will be available at the door.
