Celebrate the Grand Opening of the Turlock Carnegie Arts Center

Everyone is invited to attend the free community open house to celebrate the re-opening of the renovated and expanded Carnegie Arts Center in downtown Turlock. The free event will begin with music at 10am, the ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30am, followed by a whole day of celebratory performances and demonstrations by local artists, students, and groups. Something new will be happening every half hour throughout the new building and on the outdoor plaza.


Groups performing include Hilmar Community Band, Village Folk Dancers, Turlock Junior High School Chamber Group, Turlock High School Chamber Group, Whitmore Charter High School Choir, Turlock Christian School Choir, Townsend Opera Players Elementary and Junior Divisions, Turlock Youth Performing Arts, Fantazia Dance Productions, CSUS Improv Troupe, Sigma Alpha Iota Musical Sorority, the CSUS Jazz Ensemble, and more.
 
Art and dance classes that begin in October will be showcased with demonstrations by many of the Carnegie’s new teaching staff.
 
Admission to the Carnegie Arts Center Inaugural Exhibition, Ansel Adams CALIFORNIA and the companion show, Picturing California: Works by Regional Artists, will be free during the opening weekend (September 10th and 11th). Regular admission after the 11th is $10 (member discounts apply); children 12 and under are free. We will also be offering Free Fridays! Regular hours, Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. begin on September 14.

12:00PM              – Tami Stark McQueen dance demo in Loft
                                – Teacher demo in Garton Classroom
12:30PM              – Turlock Christian School Chorus in Gemerle Gallery
                                – Teacher demo in Bethel Classroom
1:00PM – Whitmore Choir in Loft
                                – Currator’s Gallery Talk in Ferrari Gallery
                                – Teacher demo in Garton Classroom
1:30PM – Turlock High School Orchestra in Gemperle Gallery
                                – Teacher demo in Bethel Classroom
2:00PM –  Fantazia Dance Company in Loft
                                – Teacher demo in Garton Classroom
2:30PM –  TOPS Youth Group in Gemperle Gallery
                                –  Teacher demo in Bethel Classroom
3:00PM – Turlock Youth Performing Arts in Loft
                                – Teacher demo in Garton Classroom
