Kettle Dash Fundraiser Planned to Run Through Downtown Area
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Rotary Clubs of Turlock are proud to present the inaugural Salvation Army Kettle Dash on November 19, 2011. The Kettle Dash Committee is excited to present this first time event in our community.

The 5K course has been designed to showcase Turlock’s downtown area and its surrounding neighborhoods.

The course will begin at Joe Debely Stadium and run down Marshall Street, Center Street, East Main Street, then back through tree-lined Canal and Sierra Drives. The finish will be at Joe Debely Stadium with the last lap on the track.

Pre-race entry pick-up and same day registration will be from 7:00am to 8:30am on Saturday morning.

Three different races will take place, the 1 mile run/walk at 8:30am, the 5K run/walk at 9:00am, and the 800M Kid’s (13 & under) Fun Run sponsored by Smith Chevrolet Cadillac at 10am.

There will be mile markers and water along the route, and participants will be treated to post-race snacks.

Several Downtown businesses will also be offering race day specials that participants can take advantage of post-race.

To register, there is a $20 entry fee for the 1 mile run/walk, $35 fee for the 5K, or $45 for both events. The Kid’s Fun Run is free. Registration includes event t-shirts and goody bags filled with items donated from local businesses.

The Kettle Dash Committee is very appreciative of all the businesses and organizations that have generously donated to their race and look forward to this being an annual event.

For more information, please contact Tim Quinn at tqruns@att.net or Kathy Wells of the Turlock Salvation Army at 667-6091.
