The Salvation Army in Turlock is in desperate need of Thanksgiving donations. Last year the Turlock Salvation Army gave away about 400 turkeys and Thanksgiving dinners but has had fewer donations this year.
As of Tuesday afternoon, there were just 40 turkeys left, giving away 100 yesterday and 50 this morning.
“We just haven’t had a lot of donations, so once we give the 40 we’ll be done with the Thanksgiving boxes,” said Turlock Salvation Army Major Debi Shrum. “We could probably use 220 more turkeys.”
Also needed are boxed stuffing, canned yams, boxed potatoes, cereal, eggs, and pies.
Donations may be dropped off at the Salvation Army in Turlock, located at 893 Lander Avenue. For more information, call 667-6091.
