As Turlock Irrigation District (TID) gets ready to start their 125th year, it will be under the leadership of Michael Frantz. Frantz will serve as President of the TID Board of Directors for a term of two years, replacing TID Director Rob Santos who will remain a regular Board Member.
Director Frantz represents Division 1 and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2009 while being elected to a second term this last election on November 8th. Michael Frantz is a co-owner of Frantz Wholesale Nursery, LLC, located next to the Tuolumne River in Hickman. Director Frantz is active on several statewide industry boards.
The position of Vice President was filled by TID Director Ron Macedo, who will be replacing TID Director Charles Fernandes. Director Macedo represents Division 5 and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2009. Macedo is also a Director for the Stanislaus County Fair Board. He owns R.A.M. Farms in Turlock, CA and was the past President of Stanislaus County Farm Bureau. Previously, Director Macedo was the State Director for the California Farm Bureau Federation, District 13.
The Board also took action at the November 22, 2011, Board Meeting to appoint officers of the Board including Secretary, Executive Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer, Collector, Deputy Collector, Assessor, Deputy Assessor, and General Counsel of the District, all of which remained the same. In addition, a few slight adjustments were made to the committee appointments for Board Members where it was necessary for the newly elected President or Vice President to replace Directors Santos and Fernandes.
