On Sunday morning at approximately 6:02am, the Turlock Fire Department responded to the report of a residential fire. The fire was extinguished with no injuries to anyone, including the firefighters.
The damage was contained to the single residence involved which sustained moderate to major damage.
Turlock Police Department Lieutenant Ron Reid reported that the resulting investigation led to evidence of arson.
At this time, the cause and origin of the fire is still being investigated.
According to Turlock Police Department Lt. Ron Reid, only one person lived in the residence.
“The occupant of the residence involved was arrested and later booked at the Stanislaus County Men’s Jail,” stated Reid.
Richard Alpha Russell, Jr., 30 years old of Turlock, was charged with Arson. The investigation is continuing.
