Tomorrow, Saturday June 2nd, Pharcyde Custom Cars Club will be holding a benefit car show at Pitman High School. All of the proceeds from the event will go towards the victims of the Modesto shooting that occurred on April 12, 2012, where a locksmith and sheriff both lost their lives, and three families lost their homes.

The fatal incident occurred on April 12, when Modesto resident Jim Richard Ferrario shot and killed Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert "Bob" Paris and locksmith Glendon Engert. Ferrario barricaded himself in his apartment after the shootings, leading to an 11-hour standoff with law enforcement authorities.

Ferrario’s body was found inside the apartment after the complex had caught on fire. His body was found in the bathroom of the apartment with a stockpile and ammunition, including a bulletproof vest strapped to him, a gas mask, holstered guns on each side, and a tear gas canister strapped to his leg.

The event tomorrow looks to help the families of the victims on that tragic day. Pharcyde Customs is a family oriented custom car club out of Modesto looking to help the local community as much as possible.

The show will start at 8am at Pitman High School, going until 4pm. Registration is $25 per vehicle and $40 for vendors, with all proceeds going towards the families of the locksmith and sheriff who lost their lives at the shooting, as well as the families who lost their homes due to the fire thereafter.

The event will also include food vendors, karaoke, games for children, a bounce house, and a raffle.
