A Community Conversation on the Future of Turlock’s Downtown
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Tuesday, June 26th, the Local Government Commission will be holding a free community event featuring special guest speaking Joe Minicozzi who will be sharing his presentation “The Dollars and Sense of Downtown Development”. The event will be held from 5:30pm to 7pm at the City Council Chambers, located at City Hall at 156 S. Broadway. The presentation will begin at 6pm, as there will be a special reception from 5:30 to 6pm with Minicozzi.

Minicozzi has garnered national attention for a study he first performed in his hometown of Asheville, NC, which compares the property tax and sales tax productivity of various developments within a community.

He has since performed his study in other communities across the nation, including the City of Turlock.

The City of Turlock invites community members to join them and the City Council members in this thought-provoking event to learn more about the financial benefits of Turlock’s downtown and other areas of the City.

The event will also allow time for interested community members with questions to discuss concerns and issues to Minicozzi during an open audience comment period.
