The 2012 Fourth of July Red, White and Boom fireworks celebration at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds will combine previous years’ Independence Day events that traditionally take place in Turlock.

This 4th of July, community members are invited to attend the all-day, free celebration that will include the 2012 Fenders and Fireworks 4th of July Car Show.

Fenders and Fireworks is a family friendly car show during the day on Wednesday July 4th, 2012 in conjunction with the Patriotic Parade through downtown Turlock, and the Fourth of July Red, White and Boom Fireworks Show at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds that evening.

The downtown parade will start at 10am on Main Street at the crossroad Palm Street, going down Main Street onto Broadway Avenue and ending at the fairgrounds. The car show will be occurring all afternoon, and will be directly followed by the fireworks show at the same location.

Fireworks are scheduled to start at 9:30pm.

The event will feature various vendors, meal vouchers, event t-shirts, and music by The Hot Rods Band, playing hits of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Trophies will be given out for each class of cars, along with participation plaques.

The pre entry fee for cars is $35 for show only, and $40 with the parade. The pre entry deadline is June 20, no exceptions. Entry after June 20th and on the day of the show is $40, and participation in the parade will be prohibited. Participants in the parade are expected to show up at 8am for line-up, with the Car Show starting at 11:30am.

For more information on the car show or participating in the car show, contact Rick Wallenburg at (209) 604-3044 or Don Harmon at (209) 993-6929.
