The Turlock Police Department Investigations Unit conducted compliance checks of all 110 registered sex offenders within the City of Turlock starting on August 21st and concluding on August 23rd. At the conclusion of the operation, Turlock Police found twelve subjects who failed to meet the requirements of their registration pursuant to section 290 of the California Penal Code, requiring the sex offenders to register their home address with the police and notifying police if they move.
According to Turlock Police Spokesperson Mayra Lewis, of the twelve subjects out of compliance, three were arrested; 81 year old Joseph Desalles, 52 year old Gabino Garcia, and 40 year old Alberto Salazar.
The remaining nine have moved from their recorded addresses without notifying law enforcement.
Those nine people include; 48 year old Carlos Brasil, 55 year old Manuel Escobedo, 33 year old David Garcia, 38 year old Ernest Grijavla, 54 year old Fernando Guerrero, 57 year old Jose Gutierrez, 51 year old Art Morgan, 39 year old Francisco Saucedo, and 53 year old William Segura.
Detectives are continuing to investigate their whereabouts in order to bring them into compliance.
The Investigations Unit will be conducting periodic checks to ensure people required to register as sex offenders are in compliance.
