On Saturday, October 6th, and Sunday, October 7th, FREEBIRDS World Burrito will be holding their Preview Party at their new location at 3202 Countryside Drive. The event will run both days from 11am to 1pm, and then from 5pm to 7pm.
The events are to help train their staff before the Grand Opening on Tuesday, October 9th. Guests who wish to attend the Preview Parties on both Saturday and Sunday will need to bring $5 to get in. This fee will also get you an entrée and drink.
FREEBIRDS World Burrito generally teams up with local non-profits for the grand opening events to help get involved with the community that they are opening in. The proceeds from Saturday’s event will be donated to the United Samaritan Foundation, a non-profit organization that advocates for the poor and homeless. Sunday’s event will collect proceeds for the Friends of Turlock Animal Shelter, a non-profit organization that saves and rescues unwanted and abandoned cats.
At Tuesday’s Grand Opening, the first 25 people in line will get free burritos for an entire year.
The previous business, Qdoba Mexican Grill, closed earlier this year when Tavistock FREEBIRDS LLC agreed to acquire seven restaurants from the Qdoba franchise 4G Management. The sites are located in Sacramento, Tracy, Fresno, Clovis, Turlock, and two locations in Modesto. The restaurants will be converted to company owned and operated Freebirds World Burrito locations and will open by the end of the year. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Freebirds World Burrito is about awesome burritos (plus burrito bowls, salads, nachos and more) and freedom of choice. As guests join the queue, they are partnered with a team member, known as a “Roller,” who helps them choose from four sizes of burrito made from four possible flavors of tortilla.
Burritos are hand-rolled with the guest’s personal selection from more than 40 freshly prepared ingredients including grass fed beef, hormone-free chicken, or all-natural slow roasted carnitas, hand cut veggies, signature Death Sauce and Bad *ss bbq, queso and guacamole.
The restaurants have a free-spirited ambiance with a rockin’ soundtrack, reminiscent of a late-’60s rock ‘n’ roll roadhouse. It’s Not Normal!® Each Freebirds World Burrito employs approximately 50 team members from the local community.
