Delhi Woman Dies After Car Crashes Into Turlock House, Driver Fled Scene and Sought by Turlock Police

Turlock Police saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on S. Golden State Boulevard on Saturday morning at approximately 3:25am. Officers began looking for the vehicle and found it in the 1200 block of Lander Avenue crashed into a house.

According to Turlock Police Sgt. Stephen Webb, further investigation revealed the vehicle first struck a tree and then collided with the house. While the house was damaged, there was no penetration. There were no injuries to the residents in the house.

An 18 year old passenger, Taylor Vessel of Delhi, was partially ejected from the vehicle. Despite bystanders and medics attempts to revive her, she was pronounced deceased at Emanuel Medical Center.

Witnesses in the area saw the driver flee from the scene and detectives are searching for the suspect.

There was video surveillance from a nearby business that captured the suspect on video.

Turlock police are actively investigating this incident and ask anyone with any information to contact Officer Joe Dusel at 634-7380.

The Turlock Police Department is an active participant in the Crime Stoppers Program. Callers can leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636 and may be eligible for a cash reward.
