This Friday, November 23rd, Turlock Downtown will be holding the 14th Annual Festival of Lights event from 4pm to 9pm. The annual event marks the transition from the Thanksgiving holiday to the Christmas season, and also includes the traditional city Christmas Tree Lighting.
“Come downtown, and shop local,” stated Turlock Downtown Property Owners Association Coordinator Dana McGarry. McGarry also invited the public to come downtown the following day to support the nationwide “Shop Local” promotion.
The 14th Annual Festival of Lights will include free horse carriage rides, which can be found next door to Rainbow Fabrics, located on West Main Street. Rainbow Fabrics will also be hosting a photo opportunity with Santa Clause at their store.
Live musical entertainment will also be taking place at Central Park during the Festival of Lights, located at the corner of Golden State Boulevard and Main Street.
Downtown restaurants and merchants will be open during the event, so make sure to remember your holiday gift list.
The event will also feature various craft vendors, informational booths, non-profit organizations, and food vendors.
City of Turlock Mayor John Lazar will be attending the event to say a few words to the community before the traditional Tree Lighting at Central Park takes place at 7pm.
